An example of reflective practice is an athlete who, after every practice, thinks about what they did well, what they did badly, why they did things the way they did, and what they can do in the future to improve their results. Reflective Practice allows you to recognize your own strengths and weakness, and use this understanding to guide on-going learning. By reflection you will develop your skills in self-directed learning, improve motivation, and for instructors, you'll improve the quality of care you are able to provide. Below, you’ll find two worksheets to download, each with thought-provoking prompts to help you add value to your reflection and, ultimately, to help you achieve any of your own development objectives. One worksheet is for students or participants; the other is for instructors. Some prompts will be more relevant than others, depending on the circumstances.
