by David A. Wheatley The Mars-Uranus conjunction that brought the excitement and horror of a political shooting is important on its own at 26 degrees of Taurus. It was opposite the waxing Moon at 26 degrees of Scorpio. The presence of the Moon adds a degree of irrational subconscious crazy to eccentric Uranus, always ready to fight Mars. Really a rocky opposition spread over a couple of days, July 15-17. The Republican convention will be bizarre. I read somewhere that speakers have been instructed to continue on without altering their prepared remarks to include talk about the shooting. Trump will not abide by that. He will lionize himself as Jesus back from the dead. On July 21, the full Moon is conjunct Pluto, opposite the Sun. Mars plays a role then as well, inconjunct the Moon/Pluto meeting. Pluto brings uncontrollable elements from the unconscious as the Moon brings uncontrollable elements from the subconscious. What's the difference? The Moon is cultural norms that may at times be irrational, but they are familiar; they are normal and not subject to rational critique. What Pluto brings from the unconscious is old dirty laundry that has been seen before, trying to use it again to trigger those embedded cultural programs of the Moon, accepted as normal. In short, the Moon and Pluto are an expression of something that should be embarrassing but are considered normal. Or something privately normal that when it's exposed to sunlight, it's obviously a mistake to have let it come out. Mars here is a false belief that nothing can go wrong or that something has gone wrong when the opposite is true. Then, a couple of days later, Mercury makes an inconjunct to Pluto. An acceptance in common consciousness and a decision must be announced that what was unthinkable, is about to happen. Neptune is hanging at 29 degrees of Pisces, and this is a positive trine to the Moon, sextile Pluto. Not everyone will be able to grasp the significance of this influence at the time it happens, but months or years later, reflection will shine on this reality-altering decision. It favors women. Mars continues this entire year to feature in events. Mid-August, it conjuncts Jupiter in the US natal chart's 7th house, contrasting the Democratic party convention with this week's Republican convention that has Mars on Uranus in the US natal chart's 6th house of finding shortcuts to hard work, being either crazy or brilliant. This is semi-sextile the US natal chart Jupiter, not clearly crazy or brilliant but instead irritating. A hard sell, maybe a lost opportunity. Mars on Jupiter in mid-August builds a feeling of success. It will be trine the natal US chart’s Saturn in the 10th house, broadcasting a mature, reassuring impression. This kind of energy is easy to piggyback on to success, an easy sell. It gives people what they think they want. Then, from November into the new year, Mars will be opposite power-obsessed Pluto by direct and retrograde motion, specifically on election day. Mars retrograde is a slower, more powerful Mars in an oppressive power struggle with Pluto's darker side one last time before it leaves Capricorn. It's a final attempt to extend something related to obsessive top-down corporate CEO-style Capricornian power. Pluto exemplified this while in Capricorn, but it will not be able to beat the clock; time will run out. Pluto will depart Capricorn for good by the second week of December, Mars will depart the opposition to Pluto. The revolution will be over as completely new approaches commence. With Pluto in Aquarius, the old king-of-the-hill style strong man will have lost the faith of those seeking a daddy. It will become clearer that many leaders spread out across the kingdom are more effective when working in an association. The spread of power into a network. Aquarius is about cooperative power sharing for mutual gain; many kingdoms, not one. It’s the beginning of acceptance that identity isn't a single thing; finding identity will be in regional kingdoms. Not a national unified single leader. This is unsettling for many who found comfort in following a single beacon. Pluto in Aquarius recognizes differences and exalts them whereas in Capricorn it compelled people to think in terms of forcing others to agree with them.
