Green Tara is a female Buddha and arguably the most popular female in the Buddhist pantheon. Like Buddha, she had a human incarnation, walked this Earth, and became awakened/enlightened. She is considered to be a protector who comes to our aid to relieve us of our physical, emotional, and spiritual suffering. Green Tara is evoked to uplift and to invite support and compassion. Her green color is the frequency of rejuvenation, compassion, flexibility, and growth.
Green Tara practice helps by cultivating compassion, reducing fear, providing protection from obstacles, and allowing individuals to access their innate awakened nature through visualization, mantra recitation, and meditation, essentially helping one to develop a more positive and compassionate mindset towards themselves and others; she is often seen as a symbol of the divine feminine energy with a swift response to calls for assistance.
